I just put a special piece of art up in my Etsy store. This was part of the Contemporary Austin’s 5 X 7 show, where local artists presented whatever struck their fancy in a 5 inch by 7 inch format.
If you’ve never heard of a Coelacanth before, go look this guy up, because he’s fascinating. The cliffnotes version: Coelacanths were thought to have gone extinct in the Late Cretaceous, but were rediscovered in 1938 off the coast of South Africa. They are considered a “living fossil”.
At one time, I was making plush Coelacanths, but none of them sold, so I did not continue. I’d love to redesign them and try again. Would you be interested in a plush Coelacanth?
